For Summer Wizards,
Because I let you in on the secret once…
So why not go all the way!!!
A while back you may remember that I disclosed my love of wizardry… and if not, well it is probably better that way. Read it or the short of it is I like wizards, specifically wizards who work with potions. I Hermione my ass together a variety of products as potions. Always have. Always will. Again, do with that what you will. As it was brought to my attention through various facebook posts (this gives you an idea of who some of my friends on FB are…) that Harry Potter, the wizard of all wizards, turns 33 today, I felt it only appropriate to put up a summer magic tricks volume two for what is now probably a sunburned dad of a wizard.
As I acknowledged before I didn’t make it to the end of the books or the movies, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t learn the hard facts of life as a wizard. The hard facts being that perfecting a magic trick takes practice.
So here we are again, in a familiar place that seems to be becoming a series… After a long and trying search for the right face lotion I came to the realization that I could just do it better myself. You should probably know I come to this realization a lot and for better or worse it much sums up my attitude about a lot of things.
I have some high expectations when it comes to face lotions for the day… (this potion is not for night time sleeping.) At age 16 I started using Aveeno Positively Radiant face lotion with SPF and as anyone that had a highschool boyfriend will tell you, frankly, after a decade things change! To my relief most of our highschool boyfriends are long gone but like many girls I didn’t want to give up on my relationship with radiance. After all, I had invested a lot of time and no lie, it still makes me luminous in a great way. However, I couldn’t ignore the fact that I needed more coverage and I wasn’t completely sold that the SPF 15 I was promised was legit.
And that is how Hermione masterpiece #3 was conceived.
Hermione masterpiece #3
(usually taking place after I wash my face in the mornings)
Step One: Put a dime size amount of Aveeno Positively Radiant face lotion into the palm of your hand.
Step Two: Add a dime size amount of Laura Mercier Tinted moisturizer to the palm of your hand.
Step Three: Mix in a dash of Clinique Super City Block broad spectrum 40 SPF to the palm of your hand. (I wasn’t kidding about not being sold that the SPF15 I was promised was legit.)
Step Four: Massage onto face and neck.
And YES, it seems odd to me too that I not only have one post but two posts connected to wizards because honestly it isn’t something I am super passionate about. In fact, I actually thought that guy Edward was a wizard until I was told pretty rudely he is a telepathic vampire… And YES, I am sure I have now upset all of my stay-at-home mom friends with that confession.
What concoctions do you mix together to create beauty magic??
