A while back BuzzFeed listed 23 signs you’ve lived in New York too long… and they were so painfully true it hurt… The one that I had never really thought about is the fact that we walk around with our earbuds glued to the inside of our ears. God forbid for one walking second of new york life we don’t have music in our ears.
I guess when you think about it, we don’t drive. So it is kind of the same as listening to the radio in your car. I think that we take it to the extreme. I mean, I for one have definitely not turned my music down much less off while paying for my grande skinny vanilla latte. After some thought, I don’t really feel that bad about it. I feel confident before I transformed, I drove a car (transformed into a new yorker for better or for worse) and when a great song would come on the radio I didn’t turn it down or off while going through the drive thru either.
Either way, Behind the Mirror’s first post went up one year ago today.
So in the spirit of celebrating, this is how I am currently walking the streets of NYC…***beauty always comes from within, photo from here, XOXO behind the mirror***
