Gift Idea: Lanvin I Love You

Behind the mirror, Lanvin I love you, Lanvin, Amanda Teague

Amiram travels quite a bit for work. Most of the time, I’m so jealous he’s off seeing the world, but I try to remember traveling for work is never fun. Over the years, he has brought me back some of my favorite gifts. Upon returning from China recently, Amiram gave me the coffee table book, Lanvin I love you. And, I love this book. It is the perfect gift for that person who has everything.

The book is pictures of the Lanvin shop windows because the windows are a “portrait of a collection… zooming into the Lanvin world, into our world.” Once Alber Elbaz saw the pictures spread out he didn’t see windows anymore, he only saw women, individuals. People that he loves, people that he knows, and people that Alber would like to know. He gave each window or woman a story, a secret. He gave them names and personalities.  It is truly a tale of the Lanvin women.

I love the different languages in the book. The way it transitions from French to English just like the modern women he designs clothes for. I am constantly amazed by the intimacy in which Alber Elbaz understands his customer. This is what I consider to set him apart from the others. There are blank pages throughout the book to write your own story for some of the women. Romance runs all through the book just like with his collections. There are hints by way of electric hearts, champagne glasses, and red nails.

If you’re still looking for the perfect gift for the person who has everything… this beautiful book is definitely the way to go!

  • I love it!! And yes, Lanvin (Alber Elbaz) is another story…I love his collections, there is Beauty in them, even if it is not my style (which doesn’t mean I would mind to put a Lanvin on! No problem on that!). That book must be precious. Great gift idea

  • What a great book! Would love to have this sitting on my coffee table!

  • That sounds really interesting…thanks for the tip. I read an interview/article with/about Alber Elbaz once and he seems to be an extraordinary talent.
And yes, you are right: travelling for work is most of the time NOT so exciting as everyone thinks ;)
