I don’t know about you but I can be a late night Pinterest stalker. Pinterest requires absolutely no thought. Which is one reason why I am assuming it is such a big hit. Basically, I just scroll down and down and look at beautiful pictures of beautiful people and beautiful things that then leave me feeling inspired as if I too, can create beauty.

It also sometimes creates a false sense of self. Have you ever seen a picture of Alexa Chung, Freja Beha Erichsen or Francoise Hardy and thought, “Wow, those bangs look amazing!” No? What about Brigitte Bardot? Maybe Daria Werbowy? No, did bangs in the 80’s and decided not to do them again? Probably for the best. I however do not have the same thought process as you. I see those pictures, print them out, and head straight to the hair dresser without thinking bangs or anything else through.

Don’t get me wrong. I love my bangs. I think they look great. Katja over at Parlor did one hell of a job. The thing is they require a little more work than the girl who just dumps her intimates in the washing machine can really commit to. If you hand wash your delicates and then pin them up carefully to dry, by all means go get some bangs. You will be fine. If not, you might want to give it some serious thought.

But if you rush into things without looking back with the motto, “It’s just hair, it will be ok” keep reading.

Bangs are greasy for no apparent reason. None.

1.) Do not condition bangs ever. Wash with shampoo, condition your hair, but DO NOT put conditioner on bangs. Condition + Bangs = Grease Spot
2.) Dry Shampoo is your new Savior. It now stays in my handbag.
3.) Blow Dry the bangs. Everyone knows how I feel about blow drying my hair. I am lucky I even own a hair dryer. But thanks to God I do. It takes less than 5 minutes. Blow dry while you brush them in different directions.

Rain is going to make them go wild. Spring Break Wild.

1.) Pin them back.
2.) Let all your hair go wild so they just blend in.
3.) Hippie Headband or Boho Scarf works to pull them back too.

Bangs grow at a rapid speed right into your eyes.

1.) Cut them while wet, in the morning is best to ensure you have not had three glasses of wine.
2.) Stop by the salon to get a trim. Most salons offer a bang trim for a fraction of the price of a hair cut.

Winter hats ruin everything you just accomplished.

1.) Save bangs for the summer or live somewhere you won’t need to wear a winter hat.
2.) Wash winter hats often. Fresh and Clean may rub off… probably not, but maybe.

And FOR SURE don’t touch them with your fingers.

Anybody else got some go to Bang secrets? Please do share, I am new at this and would love any help you can give!!!
